Hi I'm Glenn Bishop, I'm from the beautiful country of New Zealand in the South Pacific and retired from my 30 years business life in 2005. Health and a passion for seeing the world brought about my retirement, which has turned into another phase of my life.
My initial dream was to travel the East Coast fo America including the Bahamas and Cuba relaxing and enjoying myself. Then head of to Europe to watch the Monaco Grand Prix and the 32nd America's cup and discover what the Mediterranean had to offer.
It all started when I made a rash statement in 2003 when we (New Zealand) lost the Americas Cup. I said that it was a good thing because now we would have to get off our arses and go to Europe to get it back. Then I added that i would be there with a boat and everyone was welcome. Silly statement!
In 2005 after my very special little dog (Snoopy) passed away I was free to travel. I sold the business interests that tied me to a daily grind and set off to look for the location and the boat to complete my dream. Wilmington, NC. became the location and the Fox Hat story was born.
Because most of my friends are in the not so rich category I decided to film the whole journey and invite them on the sections that they could afford to do.At the start I was just going to use a home video,but as so often happens in my life, enthusiasm got the better of me and the documentary got a life. The rest as they say 'is history'.
I wrote to the wonderful Frank Capra Jr. who showed great interest in my project and from there it has taken on a life of it's own. Anzium Films was started and will continue to help up and coming film and documentary projects turn into reality. And I firmly believe that we will produce reality TV, not unrealistic TV that is called reality. Our reality will be the kind of life you want to lead, and when you get there you will understand. I have always said I don't need drugs and drink to get a buzz, real life is such a blast if you just live it. And to that end we actually need a planet to live out this wonderful time. So think and be careful about what you do with our world.Currently it's the only one we have.
